A Sunset to Remember
Our first full day in Italy! First stop was Mercato Centrale Firenze, which is the market place with every type of Italian food that you could ever imagine. From cannolis to hand-crafted pizza, you can find it here! Later in the day, we went on a walking tour of Florence. Seeing Michelangelo's work of art, the David was quite spectacular. It was brilliantly sculpted and definitely worth seeing. The tour taught me a lot about the Medici family, Leonardo de Vinci, Michelangelo, and all of the incredible history that took place in Florence. After walking for quite a while, Sophie and I felt we needed a little gelato-pick-me-up. Amorino was the perfect place for that! They are really extra and make their gelato into flowers!😍 It was probably one of my favorites or my favorite gelato place in Italy! (And trust me, we tried a LOT) At twilight, we hiked up to a viewpoint called Piazzale Michelangelo. We watched the sun set over the city and for a moment it seemed as if there wasn't a care in the world. To finish up the day on a delectable note, we ate at Sophie's favorite pizza place, Gusta Pizza.
