Out of My Mind: Book Review
Even though my summer has been very busy, I have still found the time to do some summer reading. One of my favorite books I have read this summer is Out of My Mind, by Sharon M. Draper. If you enjoy heartwarming books that really make you think, then this book is for you. I received this book for my birthday from my grandma, and I could just tell from reading the back that this book would be intriguing. Melody is extremely intelligent and has an amazing memory, but no one knows it because Melody can't walk or talk. This book is written from the point of view of Melody, so you can kind of see what it is like to be in Melody's shoes. When I was reading in the car, I started to cry tears of happiness when she is able to tell her parents that she loves them for the first time using her Medi-Talker. As weird as this might sound, this book was very uplifting and inspiring. It teaches a lot of lessons about mean girls and to keep trying. This is an easy read with great messages, and I highly recommend it!
